Toronto, 19 de mayo.– The Latin American community in Mississauga is growing and we need to put more resources and help the community to grow, said Stephen Dasko, the candidate for mayor of Mississauga.
In a short interview during the Spring Latin Festival, organized by Isabel Cuellar, Dasko said that activities such as this festival, which is “a beautiful thing” are going to be for many years.
“I love our Latin community here and I want to make sure that we continue to grow and have the respect that it very much deserves,” added Dasko who is trying to gain the Latin votes in Mississauga for the June 10 elections.
The Essential channel asked what is he offering for the Latin American community in Mississauga. He enumerated the main issues of his campaign.
“I offer an environment that we can grow, that we all want to make sure that we’re all part of the same team.”
Stephen Dasko, who has been participating in recent Latin American community events, offers to keep taxes low and to create action to reinforce security in Mississauga.
“I want to create a safe community for everybody because everybody wants to feel like they’re at home. I don’t think it’s appropriate when somebody feels that they’re not safe in the community.
“This is where the real opportunity is because I think that we’ve got something very special here and you just need somebody as mayor that will help promote it.”
Dasko highlighted that Mississauga should be recognized for the culture and the art of many countries.
“We couldn’t have all countries without the Latin community,” he said.
Asked about the Latin community in Mississauga, the candidate for mayor said this community is “amazing.”
“It’s a large community here, but we need to have a larger voice for the Latin community because the power is there but somebody like myself, you need to come in and say, you know what? I will support you.
I will help you go up to the next level. And that’s what I love about being our next mayor.
“I’m running because we bought all of the ingredients for success here, and I think it’s just so important to get out and vote because together we can make it all happen.”
The Mississauga election day is June 10.
Stephen Dasko said he felt confident to win the election: “I think I’m in a very good position and it just comes down to now is having everybody come out and lend their support and come out and cast their ballot for me.”
